The Student League for Intercollegiate Esports (SLICE) and the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) are pleased to announce the winners for their first ever Midwest Regional esports event. Students and esports teams from 14 colleges and universities competed in the tournament held at the Lincolnshire Marriott in Chicago. Teams competed in Smash Brothers, Rocket League, and Fortnite.
Richland Community College came in second place, behind Kansas City Kansas Community College in overall standings. The mixed team consisting of Richland Community College and Waubonsee Community College also took second place in the Rocket League. Dalton Meis of Richland Community College won first place in Fortnite.

Regional participants will be invited to participate in the national competition in Orlando, FL on March 5-8 where teams from around the country will be invited to compete for a national esports championship!

To that end, SLICE provides industry leading competitions and educational opportunities that promote sportsmanship and further the educational mission of colleges and universities.
