Richland Community College Perkins CTE Student Support Grant Application

The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) is a federal program that supports rigorous Career & Technical programs that prepare students for high-skill, high-tech, high demand careers. Each semester, a limited amount of Perkins CTE Student Support Grant funds may be made available to help Richland students overcome specific barriers to success. These funds are contingent upon federal and state allocation. Applications are accepted any time after July 1st.

According to federal law, Perkins CTE Student Support Grant recipients must be a member of one or more of the following federally defined underserved populations. Verification required. Please check all that apply:*
- Individuals with disabilities
- Those from economically disadvantaged families, youth or adults
- Individuals preparing for nontraditional fields for their gender
- Single parents, including single pregnant women
- Out of workforce individuals
- English learners
- Homeless individuals
- Youth who are in, or aged out of, the foster care system
- Youth with parents on active duty in the armed forces
Describe how the potential grant funds will be used. Perkins CTE Student Support Grant funds will only be awarded to provide students with specific equipment, supplies or uniforms required for a CTE course or program.*
