Decatur, IL – Starting August 1st, Richland Community College’s free Adult Education Program is holding orientations for new students.
GED/ High School Diploma:
- August 1st, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. | Richland Community College Campus (Room W115)
- August 1st, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. | Richland Community College Campus (Room W115)
- August 2nd, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. | Richland Community College Campus (Room W115)
- August 2nd, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. | Richland Community College Campus (Room W115)
- August 7th, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. | Richland Community College Campus (Room W115)
- August 9th, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. | Decatur Public Library
ESL (English as a Second Language):
- August 9th, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. | Decatur Public Library
- August 10th, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. | Decatur Public Library
The GED classes meet 3-4 days a week over an 8-week session. These courses help students prepare for the GED test’s 4 subjects: Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies.
The ESL courses help students improve their English speaking, reading, and writing skills for academic or employment purposes. Classes for both programs are held on campus or at the Decatur Public Library.
Orientation is required for all new and returning students. During orientation, students will learn more about the program and will take an assessment to place them in the appropriate class.
